Location

Surrounded by nature this villa is located close to the Dordogne river and on a 5 minutes drive from Saint-Foy-La-Grande. Since the middle ages this village has a Saturday market  with endless stalls with local vegetables, wines, fruits, oysters and cheese. Also the city of Bergerac is worth a visit, this picturesque city build on a hills alongside the Dordogne river, has great views and the best restaurants in the region.

If you want to be a bit more active there are beautiful hiking paths in the area (the Pilgrimage Route of Santiago de Compostela runs by the house), but you can also enjoy canoeing on the Dordogne or play golf at Chateau Vigniers. If you don't feel like leaving the house just jump in the pool, play some petanque or simply take the Ping-Pong table out of the garage.

Furthermore the area is surrounded by the wineries. Visit the unbelievably beautiful village of Saint-Emilion and enjoy one of many tastings, or go to the Pomerol where they produce the world famous Petrus. But as the region is historically known for its sweet desert wines also a visit to Chateau Monbazillac is a treat.

All of the activities above are within 30 min drive of the house so perfect for a day trip.
